Non Contiguous Constituencies (Wards)

Cleisthenes formed 10 new “tribes” in Athens based not on blood relations but on where people lived. He combined three trittyes to form each tribe from different parts of the Attica peninsula, one from the coastal region, one from the city, and one from inland. Each tribe sent fifty representatives for one year of service to a city assembly.
